Property: yellow flakes,also known as alkali sulfide and smelly alkali, is an inorganic salt with strong moisture absorption and easy solubility in water. Hydrolysis generates sodium hydroxide and sodium hydrosulfide. The aqueous solution is strongly alkaline and corrosive.
Use: It is used in the dye industry to make sulfur dyes, sulfide green, sulfide blue or dye intermediate reducing agent and mordant. Used as flotation agent for ore in colored gold industry; Used as depilatory for raw skin in leather industry; it is used as a cooking agent for paper in the paper industry; industrial sodium sulfide is also widely used in the manufacture of sodium thiosulfate, sodium hydrosulfide, sodium polysulfide and other products; it is used in textile, pigment, rubber, pharmaceutical and other production industries.
